I had four mornings in Reine and spent all of them on the same stretch of sand below Hamnøy. The first three were flat and grey. The camera stayed in the bag and I walked the shoreline instead, working out where I wanted to be standing when it finally happened.
On the last morning the cloud broke along the ridge for about six minutes. The peaks went pink and the water held still. I shot maybe forty frames and kept one.
The rest of the trip was drying gloves on the radiator and eating brown cheese. Fair trade for the six minutes.
